What personal data we collect and why
We only collect data that is necessary to provide our English teaching services and respond to your enquiries.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate B4 English. Each has its own privacy policy governing how your data is processed:

Children’s data
We offer lessons to children aged 10–16. For students under 16, we require parental or guardian consent before collecting any personal data. Lesson bookings for children must be made by a parent or guardian. Lesson notes are sent to the parent or guardian’s email address.
How long we keep your data
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary:
- Enquiries: Deleted after 12 months if no lessons are booked
- Student records and lesson notes: Retained for the duration of your course plus 12 months after your last lesson
- Payment records: Retained for 6 years as required by UK tax regulations
- Prize draw entries: Deleted within 30 days of the draw closing
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — Ask us to correct any inaccurate data
- Erasure — Ask us to delete your data (subject to legal obligations)
- Restriction — Ask us to limit how we use your data
- Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — Object to our processing of your data

Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal data. This website uses SSL encryption (HTTPS). Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe and PayPal — we never see or store your card details. Access to student records is restricted to Michelle Barratt only.
International transfers
B4 English is operated from Spain. If you are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA), your data may be transferred to and processed within the EEA. Third-party services such as Stripe and Zoom may process data outside the EEA in accordance with their own privacy policies and appropriate safeguards.
